Weatherproof Manhole Cover SD1.P, premium model, rectangular type

Manhole cover, premium model, weatherproof, rectangular in shape, constructed entirely of 1.4307 (AISI 304 L) stainless steel.

In accordance with DIN 1239:2018-4, suitable for use in Ex zone 1.

The cover is constructed from stainless steel plate featuring a centrally raised profile and inner cross bracing for enhanced rigidity. It is equipped with a self-retracting lock, operable only with a special key, and supported by two short-version (650N) stainless steel gas-assisted spring dampers. These dampers include an integrated, self-retracting arrestor that can only be manually released and are guided by a non-detachable U-profile with fully penetration-welded holders on three sides.

The design incorporates stable, concealed hinges for vandalism resistance and a replaceable, frost-proof, weather-resistant insect-proof rubber seal, securely clamped into a groove on the cover's interior.

The cover is insulated with CFC-free polyurethane hard foam, injected using a specialized method to ensure a completely gap-free filling. The insulation is protected on the underside by a stainless steel plate. A centrally mounted handle is provided to assist with opening.

Welded angles are included on the cover to accommodate a customer-supplied magnetic contact, with fixing screws provided. Additionally, the design includes a connection for potential equalization, ensuring safety and functionality.

The frame is constructed from a 3.5 in. / 90 mm angle section, flanged on both sides for enhanced stability. It features four vertically welded clips, each designed for bolted mounting inside the shaft and serving as lift locks (one dowelling clip per side). Each side of the frame includes three boreholes for secure bolted mounting.

Additionally, two extra frame mounts are incorporated in the areas where the gas-assisted spring dampers are installed, ensuring robust support and reliable functionality.

Manhole cover and frame shielded arc-welded, acid-treated in a pickling bath and passivated. This pickling method ensures that all cavities are reached and optimal corrosion protection is guaranteed. Fixing material, gasket strip and operating key included.
