HUBER Pumping Stations Screen ROTAMAT® RoK4 Automatically cleaned fine screen with vertical lifting, dewatering and compaction of screenings

  • Prevents clogging of pumps in the pumping station
  • Compact design for easy installation in confined spaces
  • Dewatering and compaction of screenings
  • Optional frost-protected unit for outdoor operation
  • Durable, low-maintenance stainless steel construction

Pumps are essential when wastewater needs to be elevated to a higher level for downstream gravity flow. However, the solids within the wastewater often cause pump blockages, leading to costly pump failures. Restoring functionality typically requires labor-intensive manual cleaning or replacement of the units, resulting in high long-term costs. Reliable solids removal is, therefore, critical to ensuring the stable operation of the pumps.

Design and Function

The HUBER Pumping Stations Screen ROTAMAT® RoK4 is the ideal solution for preventing pump failure and clogging, whether for new installations or refurbishments. Unlike conventional screening systems that require manual cleaning, the RoK4 features an automatic self-cleaning screen surface. The system lifts, dewaters, and compacts the screenings simultaneously. The compacted screenings are then discharged into a container or endless bagger for disposal, effectively eliminating odors.

The screen consists of a vertical perforated screen basket and a shafted auger within a vertical tube. Wastewater flows through an inflow connection and chamber into the screen basket. Inside the basket, the auger's flights are equipped with wear-resistant brushes to ensure thorough cleaning of the screen. As the screenings are elevated by the auger, they are progressively dewatered. The compacted screenings are then discharged into a container or bagger, minimizing odor.  The pressate drains through a hose back into the inlet chamber. Meanwhile, the screened wastewater flows off by gravity or is pumped to a higher level.

The top of the inflow chamber is open, serving as an emergency bypass to allow the system to function even if submerged, such as in the event of a power failure. Additionally, an integrated bottom step prevents back-flooding into the sewer system.

Benefits of the HUBER Pumping Stations Screen ROTAMAT® RoK4

  • Automatic screening, lifting, and compaction in a single, compact unit
  • Optimal solids retention through two-dimensional screening (perforated plate)
  • Prevents clogging and jamming in pump stations and manholes
  • Integrated bottom step to prevent deposits in the incoming sewer
  • Easy installation into existing structures for seamless integration
