HUBER Multi-Rake Bar Screen RakeMax® HF L-shaped multi-rake travelling screen with very high screenings discharge capacity

Reliable separation of solids from wastewater

  • Low head loss due to the large effective bar rack surface
  • High screenings discharge capacity
  • Well-proven design based on the RakeMax® principle

The RakeMax® HF is a L-shaped multi-rake bar screen and like the RakeMax® screen belongs to the MAX family of HUBER screens.

This screen features a flat, hydraulically advantageous bottom section that transitions into a steep conveying section. This design combines the proven benefits of the RakeMax®, including reliable solids separation and high screenings discharge capacity, with minimal head loss due to the large effective screen rake surface.

The HUBER RakeMax® HF Multi-Rake Bar Screen is the ‘high flow’ version and further development of the successful HUBER RakeMax® Multi-Rake Bar Screen that is well-proven in thousands of installations.

The RakeMax® HF screen consists of two distinct sections: a flat bottom section that provides a large screening surface and optimal hydraulic conditions, and a steep conveying section that ensures efficient screening in a compact footprint. Material removal begins right at the bar rack, mounted flat to the channel bottom, preventing the accumulation of unwanted material.

The ideal flow conditions and large effective bar rack surface ensure a high hydraulic throughput capacity. The cleaning elements, attached to the chain system, can be easily adjusted to meet varying requirements, offering a highly flexible screenings discharge capacity. This is particularly beneficial for handling high solids loads. Depending on the bar spacing, the bar rack can be designed with either a flow-optimizing bar profile or a non-blocking wedge wire profile.

Both ends of the cleaning elements are connected to drive chains, with each chain powered by a sprocket on a common shaft and a flange-mounted gear motor. At the end of the bar rack cleaning cycle, the cleaning elements are cleaned by a pivoted comb, which effectively discharges the removed screenings into a downstream transport, washing, or disposal unit. The drive unit, which is easy to access and maintain, is installed above the channel. Thanks to the screen’s compact design, its height above the floor is kept very low.

HUBER Detection System Safety Vision

The innovative HUBER Detection System Safety Vision enables the screen to "see" the screenings and reliably identify potentially critical contaminants.

This effective protection mechanism reliably prevents damage to both the screen and downstream equipment, enhancing the availability of the involved machines and improving the overall operational safety of the plant. Additionally, the adaptive operation, based on event detection, ensures that the machine is always utilized optimally, while the runtime of downstream machines is optimized according to the actual demand.

Benefits of the HUBER Multi-Rake Bar Screen RakeMax® HF

  • High hydraulic capacity due to the extremely flat installation angle of the bar rack
  • High operational reliability due to precise meshing of the cleaning elements with the bar rack
  • No accumulation of unwanted material, as the screen begins material removal right at the bar rack, which is mounted flat to the channel bottom
  • Compact design
  • Easy-to-retrofit into existing channels
  • Completely odor-encased screen with easy to remove covers
  • Installation without channel recesses possible
  • Not hindered by gravel or grit
  • Simple and easy-to-access drive unit
  • All parts in contact with medium (except the drive and bearings) are made of immersion pickled stainless steel
  • High screenings discharge capacity
  • Simple adjustment of bar spacing at a later stage
  • No additional consumables, such as service water, are required for plant operation, aside from electric power

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The best possible screenings discharge capacity is achieved with screens that have several rakes. The number of rakes can be adjusted to suit the conditions.

In addition, screenings discharge capacity can also be influenced via the discharge speed, e.g. through drives controlled by frequency converters.
