HUBER Micro Strainer ROTAMAT® Ro9 Wastewater screen for small to medium flows

  • With integrated screenings washing and compaction
  • For channel installation or supplied in a tank
  • With optional frost protection for outdoor installation

Both municipal wastewater treatment plants and industrial applications rely on mechanical treatment as the first step to remove as much floating, settling, and suspended material as possible. The goal is to achieve the highest separation efficiency based on the prevailing hydraulic conditions. Key factors for a successful mechanical separation system include reliable operation, high efficiency, and hygienic performance.

The HUBER Micro Strainer ROTAMAT® Ro9 operates on a unique system that integrates screening, washing, transport, compaction, and dewatering into a single, efficient unit.

Depending on the screen bar spacing, perforation size, and screen size (with a screen basket diameter of up to 28” / 700 mm), the throughput can be tailored to meet specific site requirements.

The HUBER Micro Strainer ROTAMAT® Ro9 is fully constructed from stainless steel and undergoes acid treatment in a pickling bath for enhanced durability. The screen can be installed either directly in a channel or in a separate tank, offering flexibility for various installation setups.

Design and Function

As wastewater flows into the open front end of the screen basket and passes through the screen bars or perforations, solids are retained by the screen. The separation of floating, settling, and suspended solids is determined by the screen bar spacing or perforation size.

When the screen surface becomes clogged, it creates an additional filtering effect, allowing solids smaller than perforation size to be retained. The machine automatically activates when the upstream water level exceeds a certain threshold, caused by the blinding of the screen surface.

A durable stainless steel screw removes the screenings from the screen basket surface, while additional cleaning is provided by wear-resistant brushes mounted on the screw flights. The screw conveyor then transports the screenings through a closed, inclined pipe.

As the screenings are transported, the screw conveyor dewaters and compacts them, eliminating any odor nuisance, before discharging them into the customer's container or a downstream conveying unit.

The HUBER Micro Strainer ROTAMAT® Ro9 is fully constructed from stainless steel and undergoes acid treatment in a pickling bath to ensure superior durability and resistance to corrosion.

The screen can be installed either directly in a channel or in a separate tank, and is also available with optional frost protection for outdoor installation.
