HUBER Fine Screen STEP SCREEN® SSV Pointing-the-way and innovative screening technology

Pioneering screening technology designed for 70° / 75° installation angles

  • Space-efficient design due to the steep installation angle
  • The next generation designed for large discharge heights and deep channels
  • For high flow rates
  • Lifting of screenings at channel bottom level

The HUBER STEP SCREEN® System is highly regarded for its effective functionality, intuitive operation, and simple cleaning process that requires no additional aids, thanks to its self-cleaning effect based on the counter-current principle. It is also easy to maintain, capable of managing large volumes of screenings, and provides exceptional operational reliability.

4 HUBER Fine Screen STEP SCREEN® SSV units: L= 5300, W=1376, 6 mm slot width, installation angle 75°. Maximum operational stability due to the special bottom step design for increased operational reliability without impairment by grit, gravel, stones

Design and Function

The motor linkage drive is an evolution of the proven link system, designed with customer convenience in mind by avoiding complex and high-maintenance chain drives. This innovative linkage effectively handles bending moments on the lamellae, even under high water levels, ensuring reliable performance.

The screenings carpet creates a filtration structure with pores that capture much smaller particles than the slot width would typically allow. This additional filtration effect greatly enhances separation efficiency.

By choosing us, you partner with an industry leader boasting over 30 years of expertise in screen design, layout, manufacturing, operation, and after-sales service. With thousands of installations worldwide, we are the unmatched leader in mechanical preliminary wastewater treatment.

Benefits of the HUBER Fine Screen STEP SCREEN® SSV

  • Function principle: Lifting of screenings at bottom level due to a special bottom step design. Gentle and complete screenings transport due to the counter-current principle
  • Retrofitting or new plants:Ideally adjustable to specific construction conditions (such as high discharge height or deep channels) thanks to the steep installation angle
  • Flow rate: High capacity; the flow passes the screen surface only once
  • Separation efficiency: VExtremely high separation efficiency achieved through the narrow slot width and the formation of a screenings carpet
  • Cleaning: Self-cleaning effect due to movable lamellas (no spray water required, no brushes)
  • Operational stability:Lower susceptibility to grit, gravel, and stones thanks to the bottom step washing system
  • Protection against corrosion: Manufactured from stainless steel and acid-treated in a pickling bath
  • Experience: Unrivalled for more than 30 years
  • Pivoting arrangement: Removal of the subsequent wash press or conveying unit is not required.
