HUBER Coanda Complete Plant ROTAMAT® Ro5 C Complete mechanical wastewater treatment for small sewage treatment plants

  • Wastewater fine screening
  • Screenings treatment
  • Grit separation
  • Grit classification
Requirements for a complete mechanical wastewater treatment plant

Manually operated screens and grit traps are no longer adequate, even for small wastewater treatment plants. As the demands on biological treatment continue to rise, it has become essential to enhance the separation performance of mechanical pre-treatment processes.

  • Solid inorganic material must be separated effectively and removed efficiently. Screens with automatic cleaning and integrated discharge systems are now essential to meet these requirements.
  • Screenings treatment, including the washing of organic matter, dewatering, and compaction, is becoming increasingly necessary for both economic and hygienic reasons.
  • Reliable, state-of-the-art grit separation and automatic grit discharge are essential for efficient wastewater treatment and optimal plant performance.

Our HUBER Coanda Complete Plant ROTAMAT® Ro5 C offers all these mechanical wastewater treatment steps for small sewage treatment plants in one machine.

The HUBER COANDA Compact Unit is a robust, space-efficient solution for mechanical preliminary wastewater treatment, delivering reliability, efficiency, and durability in a single integrated package.

A tank mounted ROTAMAT® Micro Strainer effectively removes solid material from wastewater based on its perforation size (e.g., 3 or 6 mm). The screenings are collected and transported by a screw conveyor. Inside the enclosed rising pipe, the screenings are washed, dewatered and compacted by an integrated press before being discharged into a bagger and or container.

The cleaned wastewater flows by gravity into a COANDA circular grit trap. As the COANDA Tulip enters a vortex chamber, the wastewater flow is given both a tangential and radial flow direction. Air is drawn into the vortex, where it is mixed with the wastewater, enhancing the separation of grit and other solids.

The combination of three effects — the COANDA effect, the tea-cup effect, and the air intake—ensures effective separation. The organic components are kept on the surface and discharged over a weir, while the grit settles in the lower trough area for removal. This process optimizes the separation of solids, improving overall treatment efficiency.

The separated grit is removed through a classifying screw, statically dewatered and discharged into a container.
