Electrical Technician (South)

We are now looking to fill this permanent position and for the right candidate to be based within a commutable distance to Chippenham. Reporting to the Regional Field Manager, the right candidate will be part of a small team responsible for asset inspection, troubleshooting, servicing and commissioning and assisting with installations of HUBER equipment.

The role requires a skilled experienced and qualified Electrical Technician/Electrician, who is used to working from mechanical and electrical engineering drawings ideally from an electrical engineering services or a plant/production maintenance background. We also require somebody with knowledge of three-phase low voltage motor control panels and ideally qualified to 18th Edition IEE regulations.

This role involves predominately site work and a company van will be provided for travel. Travel includes the Northern Regions of the UK, from time to time you may be required to work in other parts of the UK.

Your core responsibilities are as follows:

  • You will optimise the performance of new installation equipment and existing assets as part of continuing new product provision and service and support to end users.
  • You will ensure that all HUBER installations and serviced equipment represent good reference sites.
  • You will undertake final testing and commissioning of installations in relation to new and existing equipment.
  • You will undertake service work on HUBER equipment and ancillary equipment including works on HUBER control systems.
  • You will carry out site visits to undertake inspections on HUBER products for mechanical and electrical asset condition reporting and electrical trouble shooting/ fault finding.
  • You will provide operator training for the end users of HUBER products.
  • You will provide technical support to customers and other departments.
  • You will ensure that projects provide effective solutions for customers.
  • You will obtain information for any potential site work or future customer requirements.
  • You will assist in the continual growth of the team by proactively seeking to support the client and offer HUBER solutions.

Your profile:

  • You ideally will have completed an apprentice scheme or an NVQ minimum Level 3 or and HNC/ HND in an Electrical Engineering discipline and you will have a minimum of four years’ experience.
  • You have a basic understanding / working knowledge of PLC’s
  • You are able to fault find from electrical schematics
  • You are willing to assist the Mechanical Technicians
  • You enjoy working with a variety of people and are confident to build relationship with clients and suppliers.
  • You have good IT skills.

The role requires somebody who enjoys the diversity of this role whilst working in a structured job environment with the opportunity to become a technical expert on HUBER products and processes, as well as interfacing with different internal and external stakeholders.

In addition you will have a flexible attitude towards handling the different aspects of the role. As the right candidate you will be self-motivated, customer focused, have the ability to work independently, team orientated, reliable with a strong sense of problem solving and ownership and be able to demonstrate initiative.

A clean driving licence is vital to the role as well as willingness to travel.
