HUBER has solutions for the processing of sewer grit and grit from sewage treatment plants as well as road sweepings. Depending on the quantities and composition of the material to be processed as well as other general conditions, we design a tailor-made HUBER solution for grit treatment.
Grit, or mineral waste in general, accumulates during wastewater treatment as well as when cleaning sewers and stormwater tanks. Road cleaning and the emptying of gullies and separators also produce quantities of grit that have to be disposed of.
In practically all cases, the grit is contaminated with organic substances and often also with inorganic material of various sizes.
HUBER has decades of experience in all fields of grit processing and the suitable solution for any application.
HUBER provides the following solutions for the treatment of such mineral wastes:
Treatment of sewage treatment plant grit: Grit from the grit chamber of a wastewater treatment plant is always contaminated with organic material. The grit washing process cleans the grit from undesired organic material in one process step, thus reducing disposal costs.
Processing of sewer grit and road sweepings: Mineral material, which can be contaminated with large amounts of organic and inorganic substances, is processed in a multi-stage process. The raw material is separated into different fractions and can be disposed of or recycled at low cost.
